Breast Cancer is the most common cancer, accounting for 12.5% of all new cancer cases worldwide. It is the most common cancer in women overall and the most frequently diagnosed cancer in 140 of 184 countries worldwide. As movement practitioners, we need to be informed.
The goal of this course is to provide the most up-to-date theoretical information regarding breast cancer and its associated side effects, and to equip movement practitioners with specific STOTT PILATES® Academy programming protocols for supporting patients through all phases of their cancer journey.
Learn about current statistics, breast anatomy, stages of breast cancer, breast cancer stage classification, breast cancer treatments and their side effects, Merrithew programming protocols, personal supportive practices for cancer patients, plus pre-operative and post-operative workouts.
