Bring more power and control to your golf game with the new Conditioning for Golf & Rotational Power on the Reformer, a workshop developed by the programming team at Merrithew®. Based on warmup and conditioning drills used by the world’s top golf pros, this program uses the spring resistance of the Reformer to increase mobility, build stability and improve the overall swing. Learn how to harness the power of the breath to bring focus and connection, improve range of motion in the shoulders and hips, and develop greater torso rotation – all major components of an outstanding swing. Through analysis of the biomechanics of each aspect of the swing, bring awareness to the neuromuscular, skeletal and fascial systems and how they work together to create greater power and distance. The moving platform of the Reformer challenges balance and stability resulting in optimal efficiency both on and off the course.
Learning objectives
Apply the STOTT PILATES Principles to modified exercises on the Reformer.
Explore specific exercises designed for golf conditioning, including a standing warmup.
Understand how these exercises challenge strength, stability and coordination.

Explore the benefits of working on the Reformer for the older adult in this interactive workshop, developed by the Merrithew® team. Despite decrements associated with aging, the ability to adapt to endurance and strength training is well documented. The Reformer provides widely variable spring tensions to address both upper and lower body as well as core training. Modifications of exercises and considerations for limited mobility and strength issues are discussed with a view to enhance core stability, increase lean muscle mass, increase range of motion and improve body awareness.

Understand how movements may need to be modified for older adults

Total Barre™ Instructor Foundation Course (Hawke’s Bay)
Total Barre™ Instructor Foundation Course
The Total Barre™ Foundation Course provides the groundwork education for Instructors, enabling them to produce safe, effective and varied barre training programs that address the needs and goals of every client. The Course presents 11 specially arranged and selected segments – accompanied by timed selections of music – that serve as the template for each session or class and produce a balanced and complete barre workout. Participants are also introduced to the Total Barre™ Principles.
The dynamic Total Barre™ program is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement, or for those who want to learn how. Instructors looking to bring music-inspired movement to their clients will love the 11 specially arranged and selected segments that serve as the template for each session or class.
Segments are accompanied by timed selections of music, each at a designated pace and focus on individual areas of the body or movement type. After completing this program students will be prepared to teach the repertoire safely, effectively and with confidence.
Our Total Barre™ program provides a balanced and thorough blend of theory, observation and practical experience to help you master the repertoire.
This course has no pre-requisites for attendance.
All students who complete the Foundation Course are entitled to an internationally certified qualification as a Total Barre™ Instructor.
There are no royalty payment requirements or restriction of trade regarding areas where Total Barre™ can be taught.
The Total Barre™ Foundation Course will include a template, choreography, music suggestions and lots of ideas to extend the program within your studio or clinic – we encourage your own creativity to complete the Total Barre™ template.
Students will receive a world class large manual, online training support, access to logos & imagery and ongoing support from head office in Canada as well as local support from the Instructor Trainer in New Zealand.

Based on warmup and conditioning drills used by the world’s top golf pros, this program uses the spring resistance of the Reformer to increase mobility, build stability and improve the overall swing. Learn how to harness the power of the breath to bring focus and connection, improve range of motion in the shoulders and hips, and develop greater torso rotation – all major components of an outstanding swing. Explore the benefits of working on the Reformer for the older adult in this interactive workshop, developed by the Merrithew® team. Despite decrements associated with aging, the ability to adapt to endurance and strength training is well documented. The Reformer provides widely variable spring tensions to address both upper and lower body as well as core training. Modifications of exercises and considerations for limited mobility and strength issues are discussed with a view to enhance core stability, increase lean muscle mass, increase range of motion and improve body awareness.

Total Barre™ Instructor Foundation Course
The Total Barre™ Foundation Course provides the groundwork education for Instructors, enabling them to produce safe, effective and varied barre training programs that address the needs and goals of every client. The Course presents 11 specially arranged and selected segments – accompanied by timed selections of music – that serve as the template for each session or class and produce a balanced and complete barre workout. Participants are also introduced to the Total Barre™ Principles.
The dynamic Total Barre™ program is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement, or for those who want to learn how. Instructors looking to bring music-inspired movement to their clients will love the 11 specially arranged and selected segments that serve as the template for each session or class.
Segments are accompanied by timed selections of music, each at a designated pace and focus on individual areas of the body or movement type. After completing this program students will be prepared to teach the repertoire safely, effectively and with confidence.
Our Total Barre™ program provides a balanced and thorough blend of theory, observation and practical experience to help you master the repertoire.
This course has no pre-requisites for attendance.
All students who complete the Foundation Course are entitled to an internationally certified qualification as a Total Barre™ Instructor.
There are no royalty payment requirements or restriction of trade regarding areas where Total Barre™ can be taught.
The Total Barre™ Foundation Course will include a template, choreography, music suggestions and lots of ideas to extend the program within your studio or clinic – we encourage your own creativity to complete the Total Barre™ template.
Students will receive a world class large manual, online training support, access to logos & imagery and ongoing support from head office in Canada as well as local support from the Instructor Trainer in New Zealand.
